CALL FOR PAPERS > FULL AND SHORT PAPERS

FULL AND SHORT PAPERS

SBBD is the official database event of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). It is the largest venue in Latin America for presentation and discussion of research results in the database domain. In its 27th edition, the symposium will be held in the City of São Paulo, in the State of São Paulo, on October 15-18, 2012.

SBBD brings together researchers, students and practitioners, from Brazil and abroad, to discuss problems related to the main topics in modern database technologies. SBBD usually gathers nearly 500 attendees. Past editions of SBBD have been organized in cooperation with ACM/SIGMOD and partially sponsored by the VLDB Endownment. Along with technical sessions, the symposium also includes invited talks and tutorials given by distinguished speakers from the international research community. SBBD also promotes a Thesis Workshop, a Demos Session, Tutorials and a Poster Session as co-located events. This year SBBD is co-located with the Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia Systems (WebMedia) and Brazilian Symposium on Collaborative Systems (SBSC) creating an environment for exchanging experiences between these very co-related areas.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Full papers

Full papers should present interesting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas in any subject on databases and related areas (see list above). They must be written in English and must not exceed 16 pages. Before submitting a full paper, authors must register its title, list of authors and abstract through the submission Web page (EasyChair SBBD 2012). Papers must be submitted by deadline using the same submission site. The templates for submission are available here.

The SBBD full paper review process is integrated with the JIDM review procedure, as follows. Papers that were already accepted to JIDM (after SBBD 2011) or that are accepted to SBBD 2012 by August 13, 2012 will be published in the October 2012 issue of JIDM and will be presented in the oral sessions of SBBD 2012. Papers that are accepted to JIDM after August 13, 2012 will be published in the February 2013 issue of JIDM and will be presented at SBBD 2013. All papers published in JIDM will be submitted to a fast-track revision after receiving the reviewers' comments.

For further inquiries, please contact the Program Committee Chair: Marco A. Casanova, PUC-Rio (casanova@inf.puc-rio.br).

Short papers

Short papers should present interesting and exciting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas that are not quite ready in any subject on databases and related areas (see list above). Short papers may be written in Portuguese or English and must not exceed 8 pages. Before submitting a short paper, authors must register its title, list of authors and abstract through the submission Web page (EasyChair SBBD 2012). Papers must be submitted by deadline using the same submission site. The templates for submission are available here.

All accepted short papers will be presented as posters in an interactive setting and will be published electronically and indexed by BDBComp. Selected short papers accepted for presentation at SBBD 2012 will be invited to be re-submitted in an extended English version for a fast-track revision and will be published in a special section of the February 2013 issue of JIDM.

For further inquiries, please contact the Program Committee Chair: Marco A. Casanova, PUC-Rio (casanova@inf.puc-rio.br)
